senior development squad

Over the coming years, the Senior Development Squad (SDS) will take you out of the playground and move you towards a player-led learning environment. The programme continues to build on the experience of the Junior Development Squad and other coaching you may have received, improving, refining and expanding the skills and disciplines of your game.

Importantly, SDS is designed to encourage you to take ownership of your development and enhance your understanding and awareness of your own game. Our coaching staff will be on hand to support this transition, not to lead it.

SDS has 3 main objectives:
  1. to develop technical skills across all cricket disciplines with increasing independence
  2. to encourage ownership of personal development and game awareness
  3. to support the transition from junior cricket to more competitive youth cricket

The programme’s strong values promote respect, discipline, commitment and a solid work ethic. Combined with the ‘Training to Train’ principles of the Long Term Athlete Development Model (LTAD), this ensures that your child will grow not only as a cricketer but also as a young person.

The SDS programme will include the following to ensure you get the very best out of your training:

  • Exclusive use of HECCSport for all squad nights (except Jan-July) – to provide space that allows individual development, multi-discipline focus, variety in training, matchplay.
  • Video analysis
  • Bowling machines
  • Full time, professional coaches

Please Note

There is a one off registration fee of £25 for each new participant which includes a free Crickets shirt. Extra T-Shirts and Hoodies available to purchase.
